Named one of the “Best Places to Work” in Northeast Florida

A company is only as great as the people who embody its mission, which is why we are thrilled that our employees helped Stillwater be recently named one of the “Best Places to Work” in Northeast Florida.

Every year, the Jacksonville Business Journal recognizes companies that go above and beyond the norm to foster an enjoyable and meaningful work environment for their employees. Out of hundreds of nominated North Florida businesses, we were honored to be included in the top 10 large companies (100-249 local employees) when the awards were presented on May 23 at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.

Award consideration for “Best Places to Work” is based off anonymous responses gathered from company employees via an online survey. From the data collected, we learned the word most used to describe the working environment at Stillwater is “friendly,” followed by “challenging,” professional,” “family,” “teamwork,” and “caring.”

This feedback was incredibly rewarding as our focus at Stillwater has always been – first and foremost – to create a supportive work environment for our people to effectively help our policyholders. It is no surprise that insurance, in general, is a tough business since we are often dealing with people on their worst day. Stillwater is proud to have been able to foster the kind of environment where people want to stay, with our average employee tenure of 8.2 years.

We would like to thank everyone who participated in this survey for giving us invaluable insight on what we are doing right and what we need to focus on doing better to become the most respected insurance company in the industry for both our policyholders and our hardworking employees.
