We were pleased with our adjuster and the woman who went "to bat" for us to get 30 day occupancy clause overruled, to provide us funds to cover water damage. Our total dissatisfaction was with the agent who not once but twice sold us the incorrect policy. He did not listen to our specific needs when we told him we closed in April & moving in July.

[Edited for length] Claim was originally filed on April 15, 2015 and not resolved until January 2016. For a claim of this size that time period is completely unacceptable. Condo was flooded by our neighbors above us, ruining all of our flooring, carpet, ceilings in several rooms, drywall, bathroom vanities and some contents in our home. Instructed by our claim rep to hire a plumber to fix the problem in the unit above us, and then told by his supervisor that our policy would not have covered that. XXX told us to go out and replace everything that was ruined and to send all receipts to Stillwater to be reimbursed. Later XXX changed his mind and told us we should get several quotes from contractors, send him the quotes, he would take an average of those quotes and then send us a check for that amount to get the work done. We would go weeks not hearing anything back from Stillwater - phone calls, voicemails and emails would go unanswered. We were given false information by our claim rep. from the start, our emails and phone calls went unanswered most of the time, we were not kept up to date on the progress or lack thereof of the claim and we were made to wait several months to be reimbursed for large sums of money which we had to pay out of pocket.

XXX has delayed and delayed and delayed. We (my builder and myself) called, emailed and only got dead air back. He took over 100 days to get us clearance to get started on the house. The property spreadsheet he used to base the property on is missing items, has duplicate items with different descriptions from the pricing company. The pricing company's spreadsheet does not even match the same type of items (a phone is now called a battery, a rice cooker is now called a steamer, and a bread cooker which makes something like a tortilla is now a cheap bread machine). On January 28th at 11:30 am, I called the manager and demanded that XXX be removed. On January 27th I had to threaten to bring in a lawyer. I am a heart patient and has been told to watch my anger. XXX has belittled me and raised my anger levels. If this keeps up I will get a lawyer.

My claim was/is still ongoing & has been difficult/stressful. The first claims handler - XXX1, was good & easy to work with. Unfortunately, XXX1 sustained an injury & my claim was transferred to XXX2. This is where things turned sour... XXX1 had been leading me to believe my claim was close to completion. XXX2 indicated I was missing documentation, so I made efforts to provide as quickly as possible, but each time there was disconnect. Either didn't get it, 1-2 week turnaround delays, require more info, etc. Over the course of 3 months I continued to have issues & eventually was disrespected. I am STILL working the claim & am very displeased with the way the claim has been handled, as well as how I have been treated personally. I truly hope that other CUSTOMERS are not experiencing the same.
